cool Stars facts
Did you know there are more stars than every speck of sand on earth. Each star is about 1 to 10 billion years old. You think our sun is bright there are some stars that are 600,000 times brighter. Did you know that most elements in the human body originated in stars. If gravity disappeared every star will explode. Stars with Strong gravity will get smaller and smaller and will turn in to a black hole. Amazing fact, a teaspoon of typical white dwarf matter would weigh 5.5 tons. When a big star gets old it explodes and releases as much energy as our sun does in 10 billion years. The largest known star is VY Canis Majoris. It is about 500,000 times larger than our sun. Did you know when you look up in the night sky, the light you see from a star today could be the light shown over a million years ago.
